1st Taxal (Whaley Bridge) Scout Group Headquarters


The 1st Taxal Scout Group owns it's own headquarters on New Road in Whaley Bridge. It is a purpose built stone building with a main hall, kitchen, toilets and activity rooms. The building is fitted with double glazed windows throughout and is heated by gas (in the hall) and electric in the side rooms.



All we ask it that all Groups leave the headquarters in the same condition they found it (or better !) and that you take your rubbish away with you.
Kitchen

The kitchen is fitted with stainless steel work surfaces throughout. It has a commercial six ring gas stove with a large over, fridge, freezer, microwave and a 'plumber-in' water boiler for constant hot water for drinks. Hot water for washing up is provided by a separate combi boiler meaning that the hot water never runs out.

The kitchen is fully kitted out with pans and cooking utensils and has enough crockery and cuttlery for sixty people.
Toilets

There are separate gents and ladies toilets. The gents has two toilets and two wash basins, the ladies one toilet and one basin. Their use can easily be swapped for Groups that have more females than males in their party.
Hall and Side Rooms

The main hall is a generous size and is used for activities and sleeping. It has a wooden, insulated floor. There are two side rooms. Both are carpetted and heated. One has two lockers with foam mattresses which can be used to sleep on.
Outside

We have a small area of grass to the front of the building which can be used for activities. This area can be used to pitch tents if you have a small number that which to camp. It is not suitable to use for camping alone. There is parking within our grounds for approximately three cars (please do not drive on the grassed area) and cars can be left on the road at the bottom of the drive.
