The 1st Taxal Scout Group is a charity. All the Leaders and helpers give their time freely and rely on subscriptions and fund raising for the Group to run. If you are a parent of a Beaver, Cub, Scout or Explorer in the Group and you pay income tax then the Group can recover the tax you have paid on the membership subscription directly back from the Inland Revenue. This costs you and the Group nothing and only requires you to complete one Gift Aid form for the entire time that your child is a member of the Group.

At the current rate of income tax (22%) the Group can claim back £ 19.04 for each Scout parent and £ 14.81 for each Beaver and Cub parent. With over 100 members in the Group, this represents a sizable potential income.

Many parents already give the membership subscription as 'Gift Aid' but if you do not then please do this as soon as possible.

There are four ways to do this.

• Ask you child's Leader for a form.
• Contact the Group chairperson (click here for how) for a form.

Please note that this new scheme replaces the covenant scheme. If you have already signed a covenant then you need do nothing; we can automatically 'convert' the form.
