How to Join - Young People

The Scout Association has five sections, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers and Scout Network. If you are aged 6 or 7 you may join Beavers, 8 or 9 Cubs, 10 to 14 Scouts and 14 to 18 Explorers. The Scout Network is for adults aged 18 to 25. Currently the 1st Taxal Scout Group offers Scouting to boys only up to 14, but has a mixed Explorer Unit for 14 to 18 year olds. If you are interested in joining or would like more information then please click the link below to send an e-mail to the Group Scout Leader.

If none of the Sections above are suitable then we are able to either put you in touch with the local Guide Association or help find another local Group with a section that may be able to accommodate you. Contact us by clicking here.

How to Get Involved - Adults

The 1st Taxal Scout Group relies on volunteer adult help and support. This takes many forms in two main areas - leaders and administration.

Our leader team consists of section leaders, assistant section leaders and helpers, each giving the time they can each week to run each unit. This can be as little as two hours to help at a section meeting.

Our administration team look after the running of the Group. We have a chairperson, secretary and treasurer as well as members who help support in fundraising and looking after the headquarters. This can be as little as two hours each year.

If you feel that you could offer some time to the Group then please click on the link below to send an e-mail to the Group Scout Leader to find out more. Contact us by clicking here.
